Kabusugi Giant Cedar Forest (21st Century Forest Park)

A rare sight even in Japan, over 70 giant cedars estimated to be 400-500 years old grow along a promenade at the foot of Kabura Mountain. Decaying old trees serve as a nursery for new growth. Sometimes as many as ten can be seen branching out from a single trunk. This is truly a place where one can feel the vitality and magnificence of nature.
