Seki Traditional Swordsmith Museum

Detail

This museum showcases the skills of the Seki Blacksmiths, which date back to the Kamakura Period (1185-1333). On the first floor, you can see swords on display, including some made by the famous craftsmen Kanemoto and Kanesada. You can also see explanations of the materials and steps used in the manufacturing process. On the second floor, various custom-made knives and other Seki-manufactured bladed products are on display. There's even a demonstration of swordsmithing techniques once a month and during the annual knife festival (for a fee).
